Alexandria Community Schools, Anderson Community Schools, Elwood Community Schools, Frankton-Lapel Community Schools, and South Madison Community Schools are partnering to host the eLEAD: Summer of Learning Conference on June 1-2, 2022 at Highland Middle School in Anderson, Indiana.
The schools were awarded a Summer of Learning grant from the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) to hold the conference which will be focused on demonstrating high impact strategies to help accelerate learning recovery. All Central Indiana K-12 education professionals are encouraged to attend. Registration information and sponsorship opportunities will be shared soon.
Gerry Brooks is a veteran educator in Lexington, Kentucky that has experience in the classroom, as an intervention specialist, and an administrator. Through his unique blend of passion, humor, and first-hand educational experience, Brooks has built a social media following of more than 3 million followers.
Dr. Megan Tolin is an assistant professor at Trine University, a Certified Educational Technology Leader (CETL), a Level 2 Google Certified Educator, and recently completed her doctorate in educational technology. Prior to Trine, Dr. Tolin was the Director of Technology, Innovation, and Pedagogy at the IU School of Education.
Eric Curts is an Authorized Google Education Trainer and Innovator. He has provided thousands of hours of training for schools around the country for more than twenty years. Dr. Karin Hess
Mr. Greg, from The Kindergarten Smorgasboard, has been teaching for 17 years, with 14 of those in Kindergarten. Kindergarten is his passion. He has a monthly broadcast on YouTube called Submission for Smorgie LIVE. He received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and received his ELL certification from David Lipscomb University.
Dr. Hess has over 40 years of deep experience in curriculum, instruction, and assessment. She is a recognized international leader in developing practical approaches for using cognitive rigor and learning progressions as the foundation for formative, interim, and performance learning and assessment.
Rachel is a graduate from Ball State University where she received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Reading and Literacy Instruction. She is a former educator in Indiana and is currently an Academic and English Language Learner Instructional Coach.
Courtney has spent the last 10 years as a consultant with Smekens Literacy. She has previous experience teaching in Indiana and serving as an Adjunct Professor of Education at Grace College where she earned her bachelor's degree. She has a master's degree from Olivet Nazarene University.
